Dear Nieces and Nephews,
It has been quite a while since my last Family letter. I thought it would be a good idea to get in touch with you at this time. The season of Lent is quickly leading into Holy Week and Easter. A moment of meditation, spiritual renewal, and holiday time for all. Happy Easter to all of you!
My trip to Edmonton and area will take a new dimension. The ROOTS OF CHANGE FOUNDATION is sponsoring the visit of two young men from our FUNDACION ACCION COMUNITARIA(Fundacco). The two Foundations partner in development projects.
Our scheduled flight leaves Managua in the early morning of May 6th, and flying Mexican Airlines, arrives in Vancouver in the late hours of the night. Hopefully Danny Hebert will meet us at the airport. We will spend a few days visiting Vancouver then hop on the bus for Kelowna where we will visit Marie Baldigara(Danny’s sister) and her family; and Betty and Marcel Gal, Simone Hébert, Brigitte Diemand and her family.
From Kelowna, we will hop the Greyhound and travel through the mountains on to Lake Louise, Banff, Canmore. We are scheduling our arrival in Edmonton for Saturday May 15th. The three of us, Luis Enrique Cruz, Harol Osmany Andrades, and myself, will enjoy the warm hospitality of the personnel at St. Joachim Rectory, 9928-110St. Edmonton.
The ROOTS OF CHANGE FOUNDATION is preparing a Fund-raising Dinner and Silent Auction at Holy Family Parish in St. Albert, Friday June 4th. Perhaps I will see you there.
In closing, I leave you with this REFLECTION ON LIFE by Daniel Golston
If you’re going to be passionate about something,
Be passionate about learning.
If you’re going to fight something,
Fight for those in need.
If you’re going to lose something,
Lose your inhibitions.
If you’re going to gain something,
Gain respect and confidence.
And if you’re going to hate something,
Hate the false idea that you are not
Capable of your dreams.
